Personal
What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:
My hero has always been my father who was a practicing physician in Kansas City. His only advice was that I needed to find something that when I looked in the mirror in the morning, I was glad to be going to work. I have found it and love being a doctor.
Core beliefs about practicing medicine:
I have an excellent team that views it as an honor to help a family or individual during an illness. I love helping to guide a patient to a healing outcome. Being a father of six puts me in a unique position to help families with all their medical needs. I believe that wholeness and wellness is a way of life and many choices we make about exercise and food can make a difference. I’m a firm believer that patients can live healthier lives through wellness choices. I love partnering with my patients to help them set goals and achieve them through education and medication, when necessary. I try hard to see my patients urgently and usually have some same-day appointments available. It is all about relationships. After practicing medicine for 20 years it just gets more fun as you share life with your patients.
My interests/hobbies:
I enjoy traveling and have formed friendships with people from India, China, Russia and Africa which is very rewarding.
Family:
I have been married to the girl of my dreams for 25 years. We have six children ages 12 to 25. We share our home with three dogs, four cats and a couple of horses.
My Favorite Personal Quote:
“Men treat, but God heals” and “You are what you eat.”
