What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:

I knew from a young age I wanted to be a nurse. I always had a desire to help others and a desk job just didn’t seem to suit me. After becoming a nurse I wanted to expand my role and further my education to develop personal, long-lived relationships with my patients. I became a nurse practitioner and I absolutely love my job.

Core beliefs about practicing medicine:

It is important for me to practice medicine with my patients, nor for my patients. I believe the patient can and should actively participate in their health care. Each patient knows themselves and has a right to help decide their plan of care. I also feel that education is a key part of my practice. Knowledge leads to better health.

My interests/hobbies:

I enjoy photography, especially taking pictures of my new daughter. We enjoy, as a family, taking walks in the evenings and the outdoors.

Family:

I am married to my wonderful husband, Jeremy, and we have a new beautiful daughter, Avery. She is keeping us very busy as we embark on parenthood with all its joys and challenges.
