What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:

I was fascinated with science in high school. My physiology teacher asked if I had thought about a career in medicine. While in college, the Lord gave me confirmation and help in my pursuit of my medical degree.

Core beliefs about practicing medicine:

I try to ask pertinent questions to give a thorough evaluation and advice. I challenge and educate patients to take charge of their life and health. I enjoy teaching patients about their health and disease processes. I enjoy knowing many patients quite well because of good long term relationships and this helps me provide better medical care.

My interests/hobbies:

Piano, bicycling with my wife, learning German from a tutor, studying all fields of science and its relationship to spiritual faith, enjoyment reading, mentoring, and serving at KCMO inner city Hope Family (medical) care center.

Family:

My wife, Christine, works as R.N. we have four sons: Drew who works in ministry; Brett who works at Rockhurst University; Kyle who is a broadcast journalism major at Kansas State University; and David who is an Anthropology major at Kansas State University.
