What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:

I was a competitive gymnast growing up and spent a lot of time at the orthopedic surgeon’s office.  I was always amazed at how he could take something that was broken and fix it.  From this experience, I knew that I would pursue being a physician.  And, when I delivered my first baby, I knew that I wanted to practice family medicine with obstetrics and pediatrics.

Core beliefs about practicing medicine:

I believe that each patient has the right and responsibility to be fully involved in their healthcare.  And that by treating the whole patient with warmth, understanding and compassion will ensure a more positive outcome for everyone.

My interests/hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and traveling.

Family:

I’m married to Josh who is pursuing a degree in Physics at KU.  We have four daughters, twins Madilynn and Holly who are involved in competitive gymnastics, softball and cheerleading, Lindsey who loves gymnastics and swimming and Macie.  We also have a miniature Schnoodle, Sophie and a Sphynx cat, Lizzie.
