Personal
What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:
Because I was born with a spinal cord injury, I had lots of medical experiences as a patient growing up. Part of my interest in medicine was wanting to know more about my own body and how to care for it. As I matured and made career plans, I developed a desire to help others as well. I believe God called me into medicine as a way to serve others.
Core beliefs about practicing medicine:
I believe people should know as much about their own bodies as I know about them, so communication about examinations and testing is important to me. I like helping people to understand their medical needs whether it is managing disease or reviewing steps for maintaining or improving their health. I believe physical, mental, and spiritual health is intertwined. Attention to all areas is vital for good health.
My interests/hobbies:
Photography, reading, guitar, and swimming.
My Favorite Personal Quote:
“I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
