What got me interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field:
I have always loved science, biology and medical care. My father had his masters in Animal Nutrition and so he may have influenced my interest in nutrition. I chose dietetics/nutrition in college out of interest and also to have a profession that would work well with motherhood.
Core beliefs about practicing medicine:
I love working with people and treating them with respect and dignity. I love encouraging, equipping and educating them with knowledge and tools so that they can then use them to improve their health outcomes. I love bringing hope and health to those in need.
My interests/hobbies:
Nutrition, healthy cooking, family, friends and building community, fitness/exercise, swimming, camping, biking, animals, and gardening – flowers, veggies, and fruits
Family:
I’ve been married to Matthew for 25 years and we have four boys and two Labrador Retrievers.
My Favorite Personal Quote:
“Where one reads the bible, 100 read you and me.” – D. L. Moody
